The Artists
Well-known artists from abroad and from the euregio confirmed already their participation in the event "100 Künstler – 100 Kacheln" and will create a tile in favour of the BUNTER KREIS.
The sculpturist Christopher Georgesco resident of California heads the list of the international representatives. Also the participating artists Scott Williams und Mark Hayward live and work in Los Angeles, California. Conrad Haberland, born in Maastricht, The Netherlands, moved 1989 to Los Angeles were he became a member of Gabriele Prills co-founded first cooperative art gallery “Hello Artichoke”. Lots of shows followed around Los Angeles and at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The artist lives today in Massachusetts.
Our neighbouring countries are represented so far by the Dutch ceramist Jos Ehlen and Lia van Ham as well as the Belgian Nicole Kaffanke. She lives in Würselen. Right now she works with wax mixtures and mixed media. Maria-Fernanda Holtreman born in Portugal, now located in Liège, Belgium designs with ceramic as well as oelpastell, which she showed in her last exhibition in the Wallonian cultural center Trianon.
Of course the Aachener artist scene can not be missing: Prof. Klaus Endrikat, formerly docent at the FH Aachen, Gabriele Prill, initiator of „100 Künstler – 100 Kacheln“, as well the artist couple Kathrin and Karl-Heinz Jeiter, Birgit Franchy and many more.
